Venice weddings often split the day between the beach and the historic downtown, sometimes within the same afternoon. Getting ready should not be a third stop. Anie comes to the hotel room or the house first, finishes everyone there, and the bridal party leaves already done, hair and makeup untouched by the drive or the wind off the water.

Venice is the most self-contained of the wedding towns south of Sarasota: a walkable 1920s downtown, a shoreline famous for its fossil shark teeth, and country clubs set under oak canopy just inland.
The Historic Venice Train Depot
A restored mid-1920s depot, and one of the more distinctive places to marry in the area.

Downtown Venice
The 1920s downtown is compact and walkable, which is why couples often keep the whole weekend inside it.
Caspersen Beach and the South Jetty
Caspersen Beach, just south of the public beach, is where people hunt for fossil shark teeth, and its driftwood and low dunes make it the more natural-looking spot for portraits. At the other end of the island, the South Jetty at Humphris Park looks straight down the inlet to the Gulf: boats coming in, pelicans on the rocks, and the Crow's Nest restaurant right beside it for a sunset dinner.
Nokomis Beach and Casey Key
North of the inlet, Nokomis Beach is the quieter public beach, with a drum circle at sunset on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and Casey Key beyond it is a narrow strip of waterfront homes that couples rent for the week. Pop's Sunset Grill and the Casey Key Fish House sit on the bay side and are the usual answer for the rehearsal dinner.
Downtown for the rest of the weekend
West Venice Avenue holds the restaurants that fill up on a wedding weekend: Café Venice and Luna Ristorante for dinner, and the Venice Wine & Coffee Co. for the morning after. Centennial Park at the top of the avenue has a gazebo that hosts small ceremonies, the Venice Theatre is a block away, and the Venetian Waterway Park along the Intracoastal is a quiet place for photos before dinner.
Where the wedding party stays
The Venice Beach Villas put you a short walk from the sand, Hotel Venezia and the Island Sun Inn are closer to downtown, and the houses along The Esplanade and Harbor Drive rent by the week. Whichever it is, Anie sets up in the room with the best window, and the whole morning stays in one place.

Makeup that survives a Florida wedding
Beach in the afternoon and a ballroom in the evening asks a lot of a look. Anie builds one that carries across both: long-wear, made to photograph, and held together with a touch-up kit for the hours in between.
The Morning
Timing, set in advance
Anie builds the wedding-morning timeline with you before the day, working backwards from your ceremony: who is in the chair when, how long each person takes, and when the bride is finished. The bride goes last, closest to the ceremony. Start times before 7 AM are never a problem; they simply carry a $50 early-start fee.

- Yes. Venice, Nokomis and the surrounding area: your venue, home or hotel.
- Do you do the bridal party as well as the bride?
- Yes, and it is usually the better plan. Bridesmaid makeup is $150 per person, or $120 each once six or more are having makeup done.
- How do I hold my date?
- A non-refundable deposit confirms it: 40% of the services subtotal, or 30% once the subtotal reaches $900. The balance is due on the day, before services begin.
